We offer a range of classes for students not at school yet all of which giving them opportunities to explore ballet, tap and jazz, these classes are as follows:
Tiny Tots
These are our 2 to 3 year olds and we offer them 4 types of classes:
Tiny Tots Class – In this class the students cover a little of each style of dance in the one 45 minute lesson.
Tiny Ballerina – In this class they are taught the basic technique of ballet and also get
the chance to express themselves and feel like they are one of the Barbi Dancing Princesses.
Tiny Tapper – In this lesson the students learn the basics of tap dancing as well as
some exercises that teach tem to listen to the rhythm of the music. This is a very
noisy lesson that they thoroughly enjoy.
Tiny Groover – This is a really fun jazz class where they can dance and enjoy their
favorite music. We teach them the basic jazz technique as well as encouraging them to
express themselves through their movement.
Little Boppers
These are our 4 to 5 year olds and we offer them 4 types of classes:
Little Boppers Class – In this class the students cover a little of each style of dance in
the one 45 minute lesson
Little Ballerina – In this class they are taught the basic technique as well as how to
move using some of these techniques. It is a fun class where they are also encouraged
to listen to music and use their imaginations to express themselves, one day we may dance like fairies or even a princess.
Little Tapper – This is a great class where they learn the basics of tap and work on rhythm, incorporating some fun listening games.
Little Groover –This is a great fun lesson where they get to learn basic jazz techniques, while dancing to their favorite songs. We also when we feel they are capable start to teach them some basic acrobatic techniques (cartwheels / forward rolls) this is done on proper acrobatic mats under proper supervision and instructions.
Pre-Primary
These are the classes for 5 to 6 year olds and this is where we start to bring their dancing
into a slightly more structured environment as a way of preparing them for the structure
of future levels.
Pre-Primary Ballet – This is the first level where students are able to take an assessment with the Royal Academy of Dance. These assessments are not compulsory however are a lovely for thing for the children to work towards.
Pre-Primary Tap – This is a great class where you can start to see their tap technique
developing. Tap dancing is great for development of rhythm.
Pre-Primary Jazz – In this class we cover basic jazz technique, as well as some acrobatics and stretches, as flexibility is an absolute asset in this style of dance.
