Safety and Welfare

We request that all students and family members respect the studio rules:

Between classes students should avoid leaving the studio for any reason. The studio cannot take responsibility for students who leave the premises. Students are encouraged to bring refreshments from home and if they have a wait between classes an activity, which may keep them occupied (e.g. homework).

  • Students are not permitted to play in the car park or out the front of the studio grounds.
  • Parents are to park and escort their child into the foyer (a chance to check the bench and notice board for notes). After class students are to wait in the foyer for collection.
  • Parents are to collect students on time at the completion of their classes for the day, especially if your child is in the last lesson for the day.
  • Punctuality is important. Late students miss work you have paid for and disrupt the other students in the class. The beginning of class is important as it is working towards warming the body up in a correct manner so as to avoid injury.
  • The foyer, toilets and studios are a shared area for all students and it is necessary that all students in these areas uphold respect. There is to be no playing of games etc by any students or their siblings in the foyer or unused studios. Balls are not permitted within the studio premises.
  • Chewing of lollies or gum in class is banned entirely. The only drinks permitted in the classrooms are water in a secure bottle.
  • It is necessary for all students to attend class in the correct uniform as best results in lessons will only be obtained if wearing firmly fitting shoes, clothing and hair in a bun for classical ballet and pulled back neatly of their face for all other forms of dance.
  • No jewellery is to be worn in class.
  • No responsibility will be taken for items brought into the studio (e.g. Mobile Phones/Hand held Game Consoles/Large sums of money)
