Can Parents Watch Class?
Parents may watch the first class to help settle students in, but we do encourage parents to do this very discreetly so as not to disturb class and only if your child is unsettled. After this we find that the children are much better without parents and siblings in the room to distract them. However,special tactics are used for those who have trouble separating from their parents, so don’t worry if it takes your little one a few classes to feel at ease. We also try to place little ones when possible in our large middle studio, which has a very big window so you can see them and they can also see you. However we do find from time to time some student’s work much better when they can’t see their parents and teachers will let you know if they think this is worth a try with your child or their class.

In 2009 we will also introduce watching days, which will be on the last week of Terms 1 and 2 and the middle week of Term 3. There will be no watching day in Term 4 so that we can keep our concert preparations a surprise for the parents.

Is it ok to swap and make up missed classes?
This is perfectly fine in Terms 1, 2 and 3. In term 4 each class works on a different routine so it is too confusing for the students and teachers to have students swapping classes. We do recommend that you avoiding swapping days too much as littlies need the comfort of knowing that the same teacher and that their friends will always bethere when they go to dancing.

Are exams compulsory?
Exams are not compulsory however it is something we do encourage if both parents and students are interested as it gives them a goal to work towards and a high standard to aim to attain.

Is the end of year concert compulsory?
The end of yea concert isn’t compulsory, however it is something that all students look forward to and a great day to finish the year off with. All students get up on stage and dance in their fantastic costumes. We leave it up to the parents how many routines their child participates in, we also offer the opportunity to pay for your costumes in a payment system throughout the year to aid in reducing the cost of the concert at the end of the year.
